Dahlia Fields Visit

On Thursday 20th August a group from the Society visited Pheasant Acre nursery in Llangan. Rob Evans who owns the nursery and is one of our regular guest speakers showed us around the nursery, describing various plants and how to care for them as we walked around. We then had the opportunity to buy plants which of course, we did! 

We followed that up with a visit to the Dahlia fields at Forage Farm, Cowbridge on Wednesday 9th September. Rob gave us a tour of the fields, naming the dahlia varieties and showing us the difference between all the types of flowers e.g. pompom, ball, cactus, decorative etc. We were then able to pick a bunch each to take home. 

Rob also had delicious cake for us which was much appreciated. Many thanks to Rob for hosting us and everyone who came.
