Christmas Meal fun!

On Saturday 31st January 57 people attended the Society`s Christmas Dinner at Llantwit Major Rugby Club. It was decided to hold this event in the New Year rather than before Christmas so that we all had something to look forward to during the cold dark days of January.

The evening started with a game of Heads or Tails. Everyone put £1 into a pot, then we had to choose whether a coin tossed would land heads or tails. If you guessed correctly you stayed in the game, otherwise you were out. The game continued until there was only one person left who won £20, the remainder of the money being donated to Macmillan Cancer Support.

The first course was a choice of melon or soup, the main course being turkey dinner or vegetarian alternative, followed by mini mince pies and cream, or a cheese board. The food was provided by Farmers Pantry and was delicious, and there was plenty of it! Everyone seemed to be very satisfied with the whole meal.

The evening continued with everyone chatting and mingling, and it seemed that a very enjoyable time was had by all. The committee would like to extend a huge thank you to Cath Thomas for organising the event and our thanks also to all the helpful, friendly serving staff, the rugby club, Farmers Pantry and to everyone who attended.

You can always tell the sign of a good night when everyone was too busy enjoying to take a single photo!!
