Summer Flower & Vegetable Show 2018.

The Llantwit Major Horticultural Society annual Flower and Vegetable show will be held on the 18th August 2018 in the Leisure Centre Main Hall, Ham Lane East, Llantwit Major CF61 1QT. We would like to thank our Show sponsor Harris Pye Engineering and also the local businesses who have supported the Show with donations and raffle prizes.

This year we are pleased to welcome back Sue Verran of Ty Mel Smallholdings with her handcrafted preserves and honey. For the first time Leighton Morris of Herbs in Wales will be making available quality herbs and wild flower plants. Leighton is the leading grower of these garden starter plants in Wales and also exhibits at the RHS sponsored events. Finally, we also welcome the Vale of Glamorgan Ramblers who are well known to many of you with information about the wonderful walks locally and further afield. At 2.30 pm Liz Evans of Llantwit Major will be demonstrating the arts of flower arranging and throughout the afternoon refreshments and raffle tickets will be on sale. The presentation of exhibitors cups and trophies will begin at 4.00 pm and the raffle draw will start at 4.30 pm.

Exhibitors may stage their exhibits from 8.30 to 10.45 am and the show will be open to non exhibitors from 2.00 pm. An admission charge of £1 for adults and 20 pence for children over 5 years old will be collected at the door. Entry fees for all classes will be 50 pence per exhibit but free for those of 16 years and under. Show schedules will be available from the society web site and Store in June and will contain the details needed to enter as an exhibitor. The Store is situated in the Llanmaes Road allotments and is open on Sunday mornings between 9.30 to 12.00 am. Our web site address is: www.llantwit-major-horticultural-society.com.

As a Society we welcome your support and would like to see you at the Show, either as a visitor or an exhibitor. We are not looking for perfect exhibits, just exhibitors who would like to participate in any of the eighty four classes that are available to enter. These include: vegetables, flowers, floral arrangements, baking, brewing and preserves. There are children's sections and one for novices entering for the first time. If you are a parent please encourage your child or children to enter as they might win a cup or trophy, rosette for first place also certificates for 1st, 2nd, 3rd and highly commended. We will be very pleased to see you supporting this Llantwit Major event. Thank you.
